Ageless Style: Summer Splurges

Welcome to another installment of ageless style.  Today we are talking about something we splurged on and although I do sometimes splurge on a new piece of clothing or an outfit, today, I am sharing two products that I dropped $$$ that I have no regrets on.

The first product is Clarins Multi-Intensive Super Restorative Night Cream.  I received a sizeable sample of this cream in my Shoppers Drugs Mart Advent Calendar at Christmas, and after only a few nights, I noticed that my 11 on my forehead looked much smoother and my overall face was much more plump.  I am not the most observant person, and my skin care routine is not extravagant, so the fact that I noticed anything is HUGE.  Once the product ran out, I hemmed and hawed especially over the price point I decided to treat myself using my birthday money and I LOVE it!  It really does smoothen out my fine lines and wrinkles, plumps up my face, fights just the dullness of day to day life.  Do I expect miracles?  No, I am aware that I am aging but this product is something I think I'll continue to purchase as a splurge moving on.  Also, I love that the company has been around for 70 years, they focus on utilizing natural plant materials while responsible sourcing them in their natural environment.  You can read more about the company and their values here.

The second beauty splurge was also something I discovered in my Advent Calendar and it's the Amo Ferragamo Perfume.  Now I haven't worn perfume since I was in my early 20s and I think it was like a Brittany perfume or something, so like a couple of decades.  When I spritz this on one evening as we were going out to dinner it smelt divine,  sophisticated and sexy.   The scent is elegant florals meet crisp fruity shades, lingers and floats without any of the anxious or overpowering scents. I instantly was reminded that smell is such a wonderful and subtle accessory, and I fell in love.  Of course when it ran out and I looked at the price tag I just couldn't bring myself to purchase it but then my birthday came around and I decided to spoil myself and use my birthday money on items I would never normally purchase.  Now even if we are just going out for a quick date, or out to visit, I sprits myself because WHY NOT?  I love the way I smell and everyday can be a glam day if I want it to be.

YOUR TURN!  What's something you've recently splurged on or having been thinking about?  Is it easy for you to splurge (because there is nothing wrong with that) or are you hesitant like me?  Also, check out the other ladies and what they've splurged on recently by following the links below.

  4. I've never tried any fancy creams or lotions before. I've always been a soap and water type of gal. I'm glad it is working for you. They both sound wonderful.

I can't comment on your blog Amy, so I'll comment here. I loved how you gave yourself a splurge on an entire outfit. It's hard for me to do that too for exactly the reasons you shared. But it looked amazing,

  7. Oh, my goodness, how I wish we had smell-a-vision. Would love to smell that fragrance. You described it so well that now I have to smell it in person. Sounds light and fresh and perfect. I love fragrance and mix about a million things every day. I probably totally overdo it but that's me!!
I put that night cream in my Amazon cart but that is a real splurge for me. Maybe I could ask for some for Christmas. I like that you said your complexion was plumped up after using it. I need some plumping!! There, on my face...have plenty elsewhere.

  8. Oh, I love that you went this route, Bo! I hadn't even thought about beauty items as a splurge. I have done my fair share of that. I used to wear perfume continuously...until I had to do recess duty and found the bees liked it, too! My husband discovered Jo Malone perfume so I received lots of that for Christmas gifts for a few years. I could never get it to last, but then I discovered the body creme which does. It's a definite splurge but lasts for a long time.
