Ageless Style: Summer to Fall Denim

Welcome to the Ageless Style Link-Up!  Today's prompt, summer denim is brought to you by Jodie of Jodie's Touch of Style.  The denim skirt is continuing to be a popular trend into fall and winter 2023.  I am so excited to add this denim maxi from Garage to my closet for the summer season but I am already thinking about how I can transition into fall.  The length is perfect for a casual work place environment, as well as my casual lifestyle outside of work, making it the perfect addition to my wardrobe.  My favorite part is the slid of course, it's fun and flirty, while staying professional.  This skirt is a heavier denim but doesn't feel heavy on and I am loving the shape.  Although I keep reading that low-rise is coming back, I sure hope not, I am happy to report this sits nicely on my waist, thank you very much.    For reference I am wearing a size small.

Summer Vibes:

For summer I kept it simple with a white knitted tank top, slides (these are not Birkenstocks, rather knock off from Sketcher), and gold jewelry because I am obsessed with gold at the moment.

Fall Vibes:
Transition into fall means layering up to stay warm, so I played with different textures by adding this vegan leather schaket into the mix.  Although schakets are on their way out, I do like this one for a little variation in my closet and so I'll be holding on to it for the time being.  I also absolutely adore the color.  I adding my favorite pair of boots and I love how they peek-a-boo out of the slit.

Before I send you off to check out all the other ladies styles and to link up, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am starting a new job next week and it's going to be amazing but busy school opening for me.  I will be learning a LOT and am also continuing to train for a couple of half-marathons coming up at the end of September.  I will be taking a break from blogging until for sure mid-September and possibly end of September.  I WILL BE BACK, but I just need to focus on my professional learning and growth for the moment.  I will be still popping on and off IG but my presence will be reduced over the next three weeks.  Love you all.

Spring Sweater Outfit: Transitioning from Snow to Spring

Hey there SPRING, I am thrilled to see you!  Although we still have plenty of snow around, see in the photos, the melt has been on all week!  I am so ready for spring this year and when we were shopping in Calgary, I knew that I wanted to add some pops of bold color to my wardrobe to make me feel like spring was just around the corner.  This is a fairly lightweight sweater that I picked up at Zara, but it still keeps me warm while the temperatures stay around that 0C or just above.  Fingers crossed that I can put away my parka pretty soon and even trade this gorgeous wool coat in for my trench coat.  So if you are in the same predicament as me, add a few brightly colored sweaters to your current rotation and fake it until Spring really arrives.

Happy Monday all!  Thanks for always stopping by and dropping me a comment.  You all truly brighten my days.

Transitioning into Spring with a Sweater Dress

For many people spring is literally around the corner, but the white fluffy stuff hangs on a bit longer here in Saskatchewan, but the temperatures do tend to let up and nicer weather outweighs the cold snaps for the most part.  But like the the rest of the world, I yearn for spring like pieces and a wardrobe change, while also remembering that "baby it's STILL cold outside".  That's why I love a good sweater dress, especially in a lighter color such as beige, white or gray.  It's warm and cozy, but the lighter color says brighter days are  ahead!

In order to add a little contrast  to a fairly plain dress, I added the cutest headband, sparkly stud earrings, and layering necklaces.  My OTK boots are getting pretty worn out but I've decided that I am not going to replace them this year, but rather wait for next fall to see what the trends are.  I am finding it's slim pickings in the stores and even online for boot options this year, so I'll just hold on to my $$ and maybe invest in a few other spring transition pieces like white booties that I've had my eye on.

As warmer temperatures increase and the sun shines brightly, we can trade in our parka coats for a lighter coat, as I did above, or if it's really nice you can shed the top layer and just wear the cozy knit on it's own.  If you are lucky enough to live in a climate where the snow is melting away and the temperatures are well above zero, not here for a couple more months, I absolutely love the idea of pairing the sweater dress either with some booties and bare legs, or with little sneaks!  Both of these are darling and I hope to wear them out in the near future, but until then I am keeping my leggings on for an extra layer of warmth.

White Jeans For Fall: Outfit #1

Lately I’ve been grabbing for my white jeans a whole lot.  All spring and summer they were hardly in rotation, maybe twice,  and all of a sudden they are having their moment in my day-to-day life, so I decided that I wanted to show you three ways to wear your white jeans through fall and winter over the next three Fridays.
Here in Saskatchewan we often just skip over the ‘fall’ season and jump right into winter.  We have already had a couple of visits from the white fluffy stuff but thankfully it melts away rather quickly .  That being said the rest of the world is easing into fall and this outfit would totally be acceptable to wear as a transitional outfit.  The lovely Larrisa of Lovely Roots Photography did these pictures in late summer/early fall for me on the riverbank.  Looking back on these photos makes me long for longer and warmer days.  We have so much natural beauty around our city and getting out to shoot some outfits before the cold settles in has been one of my goals.   My favorite picture is the carefree one below.  I wish I could go back to that moment.

Okay, outfit.  Let’s talk about this chambray shirt.  What isn’t there to absolutely love?  What’s the best feature?  Well the giant bow is an instant show stopper!  I love the delicate white trim, the balloon sleeves, the tassel on the sleeves, and  the wrap style which really accentuates a ladies natural curves.  IF I were brave, and not wearing it to work, I wouldn’t layer the white camisole underneath, but I would embrace my curves much like Melissa did last week on Mom With Style.  Another favorite piece of mine are these peep toe booties.  They have such a short season here in Saskatchewan that they don’t get worn out and thus they are on their 3rd or maybe even 4th season in my closet.  Confession, after summer I get lazy about keeping up with pedicures so that’s another reason I often don’t wear them because I just feel like I need pretty nails to wear open-toe shoes.

Hope you all had a great weekend and come back on next Friday for a casual white jean outfit for fall and a family recap of the corn maze outing we had to celebrate fall.
