Ageless Style: Mini, Midi or Maxi?
Our prompt today is brought to you by the lovely Joanne of My Slices of Life. The prompt: Style a mini, midi, or maxi skirt. Do I have to choose just one? Well, I couldn't, so I am showing you all three and how I have been wearing them this fall season.
Let's jump right in.
#1 Mini Suede
Suede is having another moment and I am not complaining. Pulled this little gem, similar here, out of the bucket and happily wore it last week to work. It's not mini-mini, but it's above the knee and perfect for the office. I wanted to keep those neutral tones going with the off-white sweater and brown/black ombre boots which are AMAZING and currently on sale here (also, they are waterproof!).
#2 Floral Midi
I love this skirt. I purchased it last year and styled it 5 different ways here, but it's back in rotation again this year. I added a dark hunter green turtle neck and slouchy boots to take it from a summer to fall vibe.
#3 Leopard Maxi
This is a new addition to my fall wardrobe this year. Initially I purchased this skirt from H & M but the medium was just too big and they didn't have a small so I sadly returned it. Then I was randomly shopping at Winners and there it was, in my size. I was thrilled and absolutely love how it fits, especially paired with this cute little brown cardigan.
That's a wrap. What's your favorite? Are you a mini, midi or maxi lady?
Next month, November 20th our prompt is vests.

Ageless Style: Beat the Heat
How are you beating the heat this summer?
Over here in SK. we've been having cycles of extremely hot, we were the hotest place in the country a week or so ago, and also having mild temp of about 18-21C for a chunk of time. Today is our Ageless Style link-up that happens every third Thursday of the month, so next will be Aug. 21st and our theme will be "Back to School" so mark your calendars! .
As most of you know, I am an educator and my summer break is June 30-Aug. 17th. During that time I spend a good chunk at our lake cabin staring days of slowly drinking a coffee and reading my book, training currently for a half-marathon, and my favorite being on the beach or on the boat soaking up the sunshine and jumping into the water whenever I need a cool down. It's when I am happiest and most relaxed. Honestly getting dressed really doesn't even cross my mind and 60% of the time I am in my denim shorts and tee, like the one featured today, or in a bathing suit. My hair is messy and my make-up is minimal at best and sometimes non-existent.
So each year I purchase a new bathing suit for the summer and this year I just went with a repeat from last year in a new color/pattern from Shein (I got a medium). I love how this is high waisted, the top is a good fit with adequate support even if I am doing water sports behind the boat, and it's a cute look. Oh and did I mention it's cheap and the one from last year never stretched, faded or fell apart. I still like two-pieces and as long as I feel comfortable in it, I will continue to purchase them.
Honestly, I haven't purchased one item of clothing since April as I just wasn't inspired to go shopping or to online shop. One thing that I've identified I need is more casual t-shirts and I had like no graphic tees at all. So when my favorite little boutique had this "Beach Time" tee on sale for $15, I immediately purchased it. It's the perfect addition to my summertime closet without being fussy.
So my essentials for beating the heat are as follows:
*Cute and comfortable swimsuit (here)
* Denim shorts & cute tee (Beach Time t-shirt)
* Book, towel, sunnies, sunscreen, hat and a good water bottle
* Body of water
* Cold Brew in the afternoon
Your turn now! How are you beating the heat? What's your summer time go-to outfit?

Ageless Style: Black & White
Welcome to another installment of Ageless Style! Todays prompt is brought to you by sweet Marsha from the Marsha in the Middle blog and we are styling black and white. Sounds simple, right? Sometimes a simple color combination can have multiple styles and looks, and can be recreated from different pieces to suit the season.
On our recent European trip, I really focused on neutral pieces that I could style and reuse multiple ways. We were conscious of our luggage space, and wanted to bring items back (mostly the girls) which meant packing very smart. I purchased these Smash & Tess black overalls in the fall (unfortunately they are all sold out 😔) and have been wearing them tons! They are a great fit, I love the little front tie for a bit of extra fun, and how easy they are to style in different ways and in different seasons; long sleeved layered under here, sweater over top creating a black jean look, leather shacket styled over top, on their own on the warmer days, and I am going to show you how I styled them two different ways using the black and white prompt while on my European adventure.
#1 Tee Underneath!
In Venice we experienced pretty warm weather and honestly ditched the jackets most days by 11 a.m. This was the perfect outfit for our last half-day of exploring and super comfortable for traveling from Venice to Paris. A good white tee is hard to find, but I splurged on this one from Lululemon because I love the fabric, I love the fit and I love that it's not see-through. In hindsight I should have purchased another one just to have as back up. This is a super simple but cute and trendy look, especially paired with some sneakers such as my pink Adidas VL Court Sneakers; honestly these are so comfortable for walking in all day and for reference I would say I have/need a wider fit. You'll never look out of style in this outfit.
#2 Casual in a Button Down
Next time I wore the overalls we were in Paris and the weather was a few degrees cooler but still warm, especially by midday and with all the walking. I wanted some light, breezy and layers to be able to meet the changing weather as the day progressed. Another causal look is just to lawyer a white button down over the overalls. This is a great street style look in my opinion but if it got too hot, I could take the button down off and still look cute. I skipped the belt on this one because I didn't want to add any bulk, and wanted the casual and relaxed look.
What are some black and white looks that you are loving right now? Casual? Work?
Now it's time to check out the other ladies interpretation of the prompt, link-up your own post, and go support and explore other blogs. See you on June 19th when we will be showcasing bold prints!
