Can you believe that September is just about over already?!? I feel a little worn out to be honest, but at the same time, I feel like I am getting into the groove of working full-time, while also parenting. We've all transition into back to school relatively well and although all the precautions and safety procedures are exhausting, we've managed them alright for the most part. The fact that September has been absolutely gorgeous has been a blessing. Let's take a peek at the month..
Happy 17th Anniversary!!!!
Logan and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary on Aug. 30th. We always take turns planning a weekend of celebrations and this year my husband was in charge. We were kid free for one and a half days which we enjoyed and filled with golfing, going on a boat cruise, out for dinner and even splurging on some desert afterwards. We also enjoyed sleeping in and watching shows without any interruptions. I love this man and every year we are together seems to get easier and better honestly. I think we just don't bother sweating the small stuff anymore. LOL!
Mother - Daughter Date Night
Halie and I had a mother-daughter golf lesson together one evening. It was a lot of fun and we both learned a lot and got some great tips. Halie joined her dad in an annual family golf tournament this year and I think it's fair to say that she'll likely be his partner for years to come.
Exercising and Appreciating the Outdoors
I was doing really well at exercising for a minimum of 30 minutes a day for most of the month. I am trying to take time to get outdoors, clear my head after work, and have a variety of workouts such as running, biking, weights, cardio and walking with the pups. That being said, I am also struggling to roll out of bed and do my exercises in the morning like I used to. Lately I find sitting and blogging and having coffee, calms me and wakes me up in a more relaxing way before starting a busy day at work. The only issue with that is that if I eat supper, then I don't feel like working out in the later evenings. I am struggling to figure out my new schedule to be honest.
Dinner Date with my Dad
This was the highlight of September for me. There was an evening when both my mom was away and Logan was gone to visit his parents with the kids, and I found myself inviting my dad out for a dinner date. We see each other often enough but it's always all of us together. This was such a fun, impromptu decision and one I will cherish for years. You know all the chores that I had waiting for me at home. Well they eventually got done and I can't even remember what they all were. But this special evening out with my dad is going to become a lasting and favorite memory for sure.
Coleman Inflatable Hot Tub
We purchased this inflatable hot tub this summer for the lake but decided to bring it home in August when we returned. We have been using it probably 3 or 4 times a week as a family. Sometimes the kids go in with just their friends, but we often all pile in there at the end of the evening and the kids chat away telling us all about their days at school and life in general. It's honestly been one of our best "family" purchases, that we are contemplating getting a year- round one (well I am but my husband is unconvinced, LOL).
Trying Something New
Happy Anniversary! It sounds like you had the perfect getaway to celebrate! I would love to take a golf lesson and get out and play again! I haven't in years! Loving all of your fall outfits! Enjoy your weekend!

It's fun and the lesson is very very beneficial. I am not much of a golfer and I only go usually once or twice a year to get outdoors with my husband. Next year I think I'll take the lesson right at the beginning of the season so that I can practice the skills.
DeleteI can't believe September is practically over. It feels like this might have been the quickest month for us. Our district is still fully virtually so we've trying to navigate that. Happy anniversary!! What a nice way to celebrate. We've also been enjoying all the time we can get outside. Especially before it starts to get really cold. I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, you must be so busy trying to support online learning. I am so thankful that we were able to return to school and parent who were uncomfortable still had the option to do virtual if they wanted. I just find as a teacher of Prek/K, and I"ve taught everything up to gr. 8, I do find up to gr. 5 they just really thrive with a real human and friends in front of them. My little people are doing so well with all the new rules and even the masks they are getting used to. It's definitely not the same but I am glad they are there.
DeleteNo, I can't believe September is almost over either. Time moves so fast! Love all your outfits!
ReplyDeleteThanks AMy. It's been a LONG month here but mostly a good month. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteHappy Anniversary! Guess you guys had fun. Great transitional outfits!

Thank you so much.
DeleteHow cute are you in all of those great outfits. Love the tights, the polka dots and the kimono-dress outfit especially.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary. You are so right about the small stuff. All of those little things drive you crazy at first and then you realize they really don't matter at all!! Love the anniversary date you enjoyed. We were talking about learning to play golf together today. My parents met over golf!! I have mom's clubs - probably 75 years old now. But it would be fun to use them.
That's such a great little story. And in Texas (that's where you live, right?), there is lots of golf, no? I am not much of a golfer but my husband grew up playing and honestly it's just a nice way to spend a couple of hours together. We go to low-key golf courses because I don't want to feel pressured or rushed or too formal. I just want to go and when I tire out, I just walk with him or we play best ball.
Deletereally cute outfits for Fashion Friday! Looked like a lovely September, hope you have a great October ahead!

I love that you got to have a date with your daughter, and with your dad! I can't remember the last time I've spent time with just my dad--how special! I love all your September looks too! This is also reminding me I really need to clean out my freezer... yikes.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was so happy that I spent that time with them. Why is it so hard to just make that a priority? As I reply to your comment, I am thinking that I should write a list of people I just want to have a little one on one time with, each of my kids, each of my parents and grandmas, and just make a commitment to do something special with them twice a year. I love the idea of more, but it's not really realistic at this time. I visit them often, at least once or twice a month, and call, but something special like an outing is always nice. Thanks for the goal setting!
DeleteHappy anniversary! I am glad the hot tub has become a family time to share and unwind! I have enjoyed the school drop with my oldest for that reason. I was running in the am this summer but can't do that anymore. Thankfully I have 2 friends and neighbors who are willing to walk most evenings and we throw in some jogging too.
