The Maxi Dress for Spring 2022

I love this dress!  I saw it on the hanger on a recent trip to Marshalls and it caught my eye instantly.  To be honest, I was somewhat hesitant to try it on because usually maxi dresses are too long, and also the sexy side cut outs are totally not work appropriate.  But I took it to the dressing room anyway and I just fell in love with the "swish" of the the dress,.  The material is so lightweight, flowy and it will be perfect for a warm summer evening.   Cut- outs are all the rage this spring/summer season and although I would normally stay away from that style, I actually really love it on this dress.  I don't feel self conscious in it at all and in fact, I feel beautiful and care-free.  I love that the way the dress cut outs are higher on the waist and leave the back slightly open, but also cover the areas I am most self conscious  such as my lower stomach and also my bust; I can't go without a bra and I am not fond of strapless bras. Bonus of this dress is it has POCKETS!  I love pockets on a dress! Anyway, I wore it for Easter dinner and it was teen daughter approved, husband loved it,  and it got lots of complements from the family.  Because the dress cut outs are the main event, I kept jewelry very simple with just H & B sparkle balls and my letter name necklace.  I know this is going to be my go to dress through this spring/summer season and I can't wait to wear it out again, next time with wedges.  Also, it's going to be perfect for a dinner out in Italy come the summer!

As for Easter, I hosted my family at my home for a special Easter dinner. My sister and family unfortunately had to cancel their trip home due to flights being extremely delayed.  We were all down but in the end we made the best of it with  family and friends that were able to attend.  I even took out my wedding china and set the table with a special spring vibe.  We are so thankful to have so many lovely people close by.

Post clean up and company drink.

    1. Thank you so much! I love this dress for all of those reasons, and I don't feel awkward at all with the cut outs. Some things are just not in our control, so we made the most of what we had and it was lovely.

  7. This is a beautiful maxi dress! I am a fan of tie dye and the cut outs are really fun. I love that it's subtle and doesn't take away from the dress. I am sorry to hear about your sister, family and Easter. That must have been a downer but glad that you guys did your best to be there for the ones that were able to join you. I can't believe how time is flying by this year though. Seems a bit crazy!
