Day to Night in Leather Pants

Day Look

I love an outfit that can be transitioned from day to night without fuss.  Check out this simple combination, knitted tank, leather pants, smart fitted blazer, simple basic jewelry and the only thing that's swapping out are the shoes.  I am actually wearing this exact outfit for work today, with the sneakers, I am easily able to run around with kids, up and down the stairs of our four level school, and look stylish. Sidebar,  a good pair of white sneakers has been in heavy rotation for me these past few years.  I love the AirForce ones but if you don't want to drop a ton of money, grab a pair at half the cost when you go to a place like Marshalls or Winners, that's where I've gotten my last two pairs. Also, these leather pants have been worn so many times over the past several years and I need/want to buy a new pair.  I am seriously considering spending a little extra an getting a pair of Spanx.  Do you have them?  Would you recommend?

The work week is done and I am ready for the weekend.  Unfortunately today is Monday but  I am looking at a short week over here this week so that's exciting. too.

Night Look

Swap out the white sneakers for some fancy heels like these ones I purchased in Italy and grab a clutch, and  you are ready for dinner or drinks out on the town.  I love these new sandals.  It's been a long time that I've purchased a pair of shoes that weren't "sensible" heels and I am soooooooo happy I did.  Every time I put them on I feel like a mullion bucks.  I wore this out for our anniversary dinner and the BackStreet Boys concert at the beginning of the month.  Perfect outfit to peel off the blazer and dance the night away! And no, my feet never got tired!

Happy 19th Anniversary to the best husband in the world.  Thanks for always being my photographer, even in the rain.  LOL!

Have a wonderful work week friends.  Remember to carve out a little time for yourself each day and do something that you love.  For me, that's a quite moment to have my coffee either in the morning or right after work and before I put supper on the table.

Ageless Style: Back to School Outfits & Link Up

Hello friends.  Welcome to the Ageless Style link-up party!  This month the theme was chosen by me and it's all about back to school.  As an educator back to school time is as important, if not more, then new years.  It always feels like a fresh start, a new beginning, and new adventures are on the horizon.  I am going into my 16th year of teaching, and 4th being a vice principal, and I love it just as much as I did at the beginning.  I was extra excited to go back to school knowing that I would be seeing peoples smiling faces as we are not mandated to mask anymore.  We all feel much more comfortable and confident, and more connected.  Don't get me wrong, I was all about doing what needed to be done to keep ourselves and each other safe, but it's lovely to begin the year off with hope and excitement of connecting in a good way with kids and their families.  I am also thankful for the routine.  I love summer but even with all the time in the world, I just can't keep up inn the same way I can when I have a tight routine without a lot of down time.  I am much more productive with everything, managing the house, chores, blogging, photography, reading, working out, LOL.

As for my outfits, I've been wearing ALL the summer clothes because we've had an unseasonably warm/hot September thus far, breaking records a few times.  It's dresses, skirt, shorts, sleeveless tops and all those lovely light layers before fall and winter arrive. Also, gone are the flip flops and high heels, and they been traded in for comfy strappy sandals and/or sneakers.  If you missed my post on Monday, it's all about taking your favorite maxi dress and styling it for fall, see here.

How does back to school impact your day to day life?

Now be sure to check out the rest of the ladies and how back to school is for them and don't forget to link up your favorite post so we can check that out!

One Dress Summer to Fall

Summer 2022 version..  I loved this dress the minute I put it on way back in February, when we were fully submerged in winter.  I bought it immediately knowing I wanted to wear it for my 40th birthday in Italy but unfortunately the dress never made it due to our luggage being lost (not to worry I did get a replacement dress that I love just as much).  I love the neckline and fitted bodice, the fluttery shoulder straps, the romantic floral pattern, and it has pockets!  The fabric is also ultra soft and comforting.  It was the perfect dress to wear to backyard birthday parties, BBQs or lunches.  Since I spent most of my time at the lake, on the boat and beach, it didn't get nearly as much wear as I had hoped so this fall season I am going to utilize it a bit more.

Fall 2022 version. Since maxi dresses are having a moment this fall, I decided to trade my wedges for booties, and throw on another IT fall 2022 staple, a leather jacket. The leather jacket is a new to me purchase that I scored for $20 online from our local buy and sell FB group and it's in mint condition.  Leather jackets, blazers, pants, skirts are all having a moment this fall season but to be honest a leather jacket has been in style for a very long time so investing in one is definitely worth it.  I opted for sizing up to a medium so that I can layer heavier knits underneath as the weather changes.

What's your go to summer to fall 2022 transition look?   I am not ready to put my summer wardrobe away just yet!
