Ageless Style: Dancing in the Rain & Link-Up

Welcome back to another month with the ladies of Ageless Style.  Every third Thursday of the month we pick and prompt and interpret it in a way that feels right for our style, age and lifestyle.  This months prompt was picked by Leslie from Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After  and it was April showers bring May flowers.  So this month we are showcasing our version of the Aprils showers and next month will be May flowers.  So let's jump right in.

We are known to get snow in April and this year we actually got RAIN!  I wore this outfit for Anya's second dance competition and then decided to do the pictures because it really was raining.  Due to the fact that we don't get a ton of rain, I don't really have a designated "rain" jacket but I love my trusted trench coat.  It's lightweight but provides warmth while the weather is cooler and it is somewhat water resistant, especially when you have an umbrella to keep you dry.  This sweater dress is a favorite with leggings in the winter but oh so cute styled either with sneakers or these combat boots in the spring while the temperatures are still cool.  Although we don't' get a ton of rain, having a cute umbrella in my closet is a must and comes in handy a few times a year.  I love the little flowers and right color of this one that I received in a FabFitFun box a few years ago.  I get a nostalgic feeling for strolling through streets, carrying an umbrella and sight seeing in places like Victoria, Portland and even London.   I feel like a true lady and I love to give a little twirl, hop and a skip.  It truly does make me feel like dancing in the rain!

    1. They were fun to take, especially since it wasn't a downpour just like a nice light spring rain. Also, a welcome change from snow. LOL.

  17. These photos are so fun! I love your sweater dress. It's such a classic piece. I don't own many rain pieces either so I hear you about using items we already have under an umbrella. Speaking of, that's a fun one. Love the colors and print. Makes any rainy day fab!
