What do you take to the beach? What are your essentials? For me, it's a good book, beach towel, beach chair, shades, sunscreen, water bottle and a bikini I feel good in. Each year I buy myself a new bikini. Not because I like shopping for a bikini, because I DON'T, but I like to have a variation to choose from and over time they fade or don't fit like they used to. This year I especially noticed that when I was shopping for a swimsuit for our winter Mexico trip. As I get into my 40s, just celebrated my 42nd birthday, I've noticed that my body is changing. This winter I found myself really considering not getting a bikini. Each time I put it on, I had to talk myself through my own negative thoughts. Things like, "a beach body is a body at the beach", "change is unavoidable and you are still strong and beautiful", "your body does amazing things everyday", "growing older is a privilege", etc.
Yes, my body is changing and no I am not always comfortable or confident, but I can overcome these things and I can strive to appreciate my body at every stage. So, I tried on bathing suits and landed on this one that I feel comfortable and confident in from Cupshe. I felt great in Mexico and am wearing it nonstop at the beach this summer, including while playing on the beach and in the water!
High waisted - must
Good stretch - making it perfect for playing on the beach, pool, watersports or sun bathing
Good coverage/support - check
Bum coverage - pretty close to full
Love the white color & and colorful details - super cute
For the record, I choose to get a size M and although I think I could have pulled off the small, this is a pretty good fit. I do find their bathing suits usually run a bit bigger and some of the other ones I tried were way too big, but I knew I could make this one work for me.
Unfortunately my style of suit is all sold out but they have it in pink which I considered initially and it's on sale!
Your turn! Are you a beach/pool goer? What's a must for the day at the beach/pool?
This suit is a winner - I love the white and it looks perfect for your Mexico vacay! I am very much a fan of beach/pool days in the summer, and my musts are a good book, a sun umbrella and a cold drink. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great week so far!

DeleteYou look so amazing! I love this bikini on you! And I love that you are encouraging others to love their bikini bodies too!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Thats exactly what I hope to achieve, so I appreciate your words very much. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI love this post. Your definition over beach body is spot on. You look smashing in this bathing suit, I am glad you overcame your momentary insecurities to purchase it and wear it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteMy days of wearing a bikini or even a 2-piece bathing suit are in the past but I have found some cute options in skirted suits in the last few years. It is important to me to have a suit I can move in, too. Swim in!! Imagine that? And I like to have something that I feel comfortable in walking to the beach or to the pool.
Glad to read a book is one of your beach essentials. Mine, too.
Absolutely we should find things that make us feel great and let us move in ways we want. With running after little grandbabies, I know you would be moving a LOT! I am glad you have found suits that make you feel good at this stage and I hope there are lots of options of prints and cuts to choose from.
DeleteYou look terrific in this swimsuit.
