Welcome 2025! We are all walking, running, twirling, leaping, etc. into the new year in different ways. I am walking into it with optimism and an overall feeling on being content. I am excited at the upcoming changes and growth our family will undertake, but mostly I just want more of the same, steady growth we've been experiencing the past few years. We are all healthy, happy and steadily thriving in our own way, and more of that sounds great!
This year I am looking at my goals in a different way. I am going to be working on them quarterly, adjusting and focusing on different things throughout the year based on my reflections from not only 2024 but many years. I have seasons that are busy and really heavy in one or two areas, and my focus and attention has to adjust. When I try to do everything plus more, I get overwhelmed and feel like I can't keep up with everything which only results in me feeling like I am failing. For example, the winter season is much slower with my photography, which allows me time to plan ahead, post promotional content more and also to give more time to reading, blogging, and journaling. Other seasons that's not the case, so this year I am going to be joining a group of bloggers to make my intentions for each season rather than the whole year. That being said, I will be focusing in the areas that are a priority for me, Family/Relationships, Personal, Physical, and Professional. I'll also add other things that might be seasonal bucket list items or other categories that apply. Let's jump right in!
PERSONAL
- YEARLYY READING GOAL: Reading gives me a lot of joy and I enjoy making time to read daily, a minimum of 20 minutes is my goal. I especially love to do this in the morning when I am not working out before work, otherwise I do it in the early evening. I will continue to have a goal of reading 24 books this year which will be a minimum of 12 read books and 12 audiobooks. Follow me on Goodreads! In this first quarter I'd like to read a non-ficttion book that focuses on effective leadership, as well as continue to read my fiction book for book club
- Plan our Venice/Paris trip, including booking everything by end of January.
- Work on Halie's graduation scrapbook. Specifically go through each year and select pictures to create a digital scrapbook.
- Create another month long meal plan for February/March.
- Keep a gratitude/refection journal 5/7 days a week.
- BLOG once a week for this first quarter! Usually I post on Mondays, except on I link-up with the ladies of Ageless Style every third Thursday of the month so on Thursday, Jan. 16th join us for the prompt Winter Blues.
- Include strength training twice a week and a yin yoga recovery once a week into my existing practice. I am getting older and know the importance of strength training but rarely actual do it because I am a cardio junkie. This is what I invasion my weekly routine to look like for the first quarter.
- Host Halie's 18th birthday with her friends (wine-tasting and charcuterie board theme table, at her request).
- Special one-on-one date with Halie (especially since
- Plan something for Logan's birthday with friends in February.
- Host book club at the end of January and plan a date with friends at least once a month.
- Continue to walk 3/week with my husband.
- Read The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fabel by Patrick Lencionie.
- Update my professional education resume.
- Complete my Assessment for Teaching Framework for our new teachers.
- A & H Snapshots: focus on posting 2x/week on my IG page and FB page. Enjoy the slower time in this area.
These were my most 💗photos of the year @A&HSnapshots. |
- No spending January! I think we can all agree that the holidays are $$$$$$$$$$$ and although I enjoy it all, it's time to put the breaks on and be more mindful of unnecessary spending. So unless I absolutely need it, it wont be purchased. I am in a spending freeze.
- Go outdoor skating.
- Go sledding/snowboarding at the local hill.
- Hot chocolate station for our home.
- Go cross-country skiing at least 3 times before the beginning of March.
- Go to our cabin at least once and enjoy the winter in the woods.
- Do at least 7 items off of the "Winter Photo Challenge" and share (some of them are holiday related so I'll skip those) but at least it'll get my camera out of it's bag.
I feel like our financial goal is the same for January. I am having a hard time past that to think of a fun bucket list but hoping to feel like thinking along those lines later this month.

I sometimes feel like it takes a bit to decide what you hope for a new year. I've been known to take to e to ponder as late as the end of January to settle on what I really want and what works for my life.
DeleteGreat post and good to have goals to work toward. We have my nephews over during the holidays and I made them hot cocoa bar, it was fun since they are also young, and loved it. Happy New Year! /Madison

DeleteWhat a great list of goals! I was hoping for a no spend January too but we have 4 birthdays this month so I'm focusing on no extra spending (other than ordering my trip photos!).
ReplyDeleteTo be fair that's actually.e too! Anything like birthday gifts that needs to happen is still going forward but I am not buying new clothes, new home decor, etc.

Oh Debbie, I am truly so sorry for your losses, my condolences and also my sincere thoughts are with your best friend and relative. I hope that 2025 brings you good health and healing as you continue the grieving process. May you be surrounded by love and support. Thank you for coming to this space and reading my post. It's wonderful to have you.
DeleteHello Bo! Thanks for linking up with the Quarterly Bucket List link-up. I always love meeting new bloggers. I like how you've divided your goals into areas that are important to you. I look forward to seeing how things develop throughout the year. As for your fashion photos, they are all lovely, but I especially adore the holiday dress. It's just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Christie! I do love a good sparkly moment and NYE just presented itself. :)
DeleteOh, you and Mireille both divided your goals into categories. That was really smart. I'm so new at doing this kind of thing. I am so jealous of your trip (can I just slide into your suitcase)! I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact you have an 18 year old daughter when you look like you're only about 20. I'm guessing you get tired of hearing that. Your fashion photos are beautiful. You are just stunning in everything, Bo! I'm so glad we're all doing this. Maybe, I can actually accomplish some things.

Marsha, I just adore you. Are you a faster talker? I always invision you like the Gilmore Girls. Did you ever watch that show? They are kind, friendly, full of life and quick talkers. Love the characters and the show!
DeleteHahaha!!! I love you, too, Bo! And, yes, some would say I'm a fast talker. I never did watch the Gilmore Girls, but after your description, I'll definitely take the compliment!
DeleteWhat a grand post!! I like seeing everything divided into categories. It makes it easier for me to keep up with my goals and activities that way. And you can celebrate success in several different areas that way, too. Ice skating!! Love it. And getting away to the cabin. Amen!! I have my hot chocolate station set up. Now to make some cocoa. I appreciate all of your reading and professional development goals. I need to make an effort to read more nonfiction. And while I have already bought a vest, turtleneck and 2 pairs of leggings just this week - heaven help me - oh, and 4 tops to workout in - I need to slow my spending down too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for inspiring us with your list, your life, and your OOTD. XO
