We hope this space if safe, encouraging and inclusive of whatever your stage of life is.
Today's prompt was VESTS. I've been all about vests this fall season see here and here, so when we first got this prompt I was unsure what I was going to share that I hadn't already done so. way back in August when I was looking at predictions of fall/winter fashion trends, I knew that faux fur was going to be big again (it's always there because it's fun), but this year I decided I was going to hunt for a faux fur vest. I used to have one way back in the day, see a throwback here, but it's been long gone from my closet. I found this one second hand for $15 and thought why not!
A few weeks ago we met up with some friends for coffee on a crisp Sunday morning and I decided to wear it styled with jeans, and then again with trousers for work. I got SO many compliments on it. Simply keeping all the other pieces very plain and simple, the vest became the main character and everyone was loving it. So overall, I say it was a steal of a deal.
What do you think?
Are you going in on the faux fur look this year?
Next month our Ageless Style prompt is "the oldest thing in your closet"!

Oh my goodness, are fur vests really back in style again? I had two or three fur vests back in the day and tossed them all. I think fashion just swings back and forth so quickly now we might as well not toss anything out. The problem is I just don't have the closet space to keep anything. You look lovely in your vest and it sounds like you scored a good deal!
ReplyDeleteAgreed and you know, I think fur coats are more in but I didn't want to drop $ on something that I didn't really have a lot of use for just due to our weather, plus I have my moms real fur coat that was gifted to me. Anyway, I hear you on the closet space. I share one closet with my husband in our 80s style home so no much room in there and then I have a big plastic tote that I place the out of season clothes and that's it. I try to donate often and not go over that allotment often.
DeleteYour vest is so cute! What a great find! Love this cozy chic outfit!

It was fun to go back and see your 2017 post! I have seen a couple fur vest while thrifting but I don't think I would wear one. I will say I love how you styled this one and how it shines with the neutral classic pieces!

ReplyDeleteBo, you look like you stepped off the pages of a fashion magazine! I love this vest, and the fact you paid so little for it makes it even better! You deserved all those compliments!
