Friends we've now gotten away to the lake sans kids not once, but now twice, in 2026! You read that right. Since our youngest has gotten her drivers license, we've had a lot more flexibility with our time. January kicked my butt and left me feeling depleted. Last week I tried to regain some of that energy lost and then we headed to the lake for a couple of nights. What do we do at the lake?!?
I went for a run by myself.
We take the pups for walks.
We cross-country ski in the forest.
We eat and enjoy a nice glass of wine.
We watch TV, currently watching and loving Shrinking and the Olympics.
We read and cuddle the pups.
This is such a great time to cuddle up with a good book, in my new P.J.s that I received at Christmas from my youngest. They are super cozy, oversized, and so warm. I love the pattern and the coziness it provides, especially in the winter months. I am not a fan of fleece lined P.J.s. Although I like that they are cozy, I find them way too warm to sleep in. These however give you warmth without overheating, plus the tiny little red flower pattern against the light pink fabric is adorable. What a great gift to get she picked out!
Books I've read so far in 2026:
Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Favorites by Layne Fargo ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Housemaid by Freida McFadden ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(audiobook)
Catch the Sun by Jennifer Hartmann ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(audiobook)
How are you entering February? How are you feeling? What are you looking forward to?
