This month my goals are going to focus mostly on SURVIVAL. Next to the holiday season, spring is extremely busy for me. School goes to the very end of June and work is absolutely nuts with all the good things of year end, along with spring sports for the girls, and I usually have some kind of physical fitness kick off for myself. Also, photography explodes and by the end of June I am barely upright. I love it all but it's tiring. So with that in mind, I am planning to give myself grace in letting up on some of my goals such as keeping up with all the cleaning, reading daily, date nights, gratitude journal, because they will be replaced by some other great things. So lets dive in!
PERSONAL
*Splurge on a cleaner once in May and June. I know June will feel insane so I need to commit to spending the money to help me stay sane. I will need the help!
*Splurge on fake eyelashes every three weeks, and nails once a month.
*Hair appointment including a cut and color.
*Try to listen to one audiobook/month and read two books (finish The Dimond Eye and read whatever book is choosen for book club). Also, finish reading the journal articles on ADHD.
*Go to dr. and explore adult ADHD.
*Enroll in dog agility with Oreo again this year.
PHYSICAL
* Complete my first Duathlon on Mothers Day. This duathlon was supposed to happen in fall 2024 but was cancelled due to an extreme wind storm so my girlfriend and I are slated to do it this spring. It's a sprint distance which is 5km run, 20 km bike, 3 km run.
* Train and follow this training schedule, taking into account the week and a half that I will have to miss while in Europe.

FAMILY/RELATIONSHIPS
*Family trip to Europe!!!!
Halie, Halie, Halie! This spring is going to be fully about Halie and her grade 12 graduation. *Create a scrapbook as a gift for Halie.*Attend Halies graduation ceremony and family formal dinner.
*Do her grad photos, friends cap and gown photos and family photo.
*Begin driving with her behind the wheel once a week.
PROFFESSIONAL
* Host spring mini-sessions and ideally I'd like to book between 6-8 sessions.
* Book 4 graduation sessions, remembering to keep it reasonable and manageable this June.
*Continue to post/promote my photography side gig on IG and FB, 2xweek.
* Read a journal of articles focusing on learning all about ADHD in children and adults.
FINANCIAL
* Document a breakdown the full cost of our trip to Europe as a family of
* Rent out our cabin out for in order to recoup some costs. Goal: $1500
The weather is finally turning nice and there is no snow in the forecast for the foreseeable future. That means that this past weekend I packed away my winter-ish clothing and began bringing some of my spring staples back into my wardrobe. As I unpacked my clothing I decided to look back at some outfits that I want to re-ware over the next couple of weeks with what's in my closet. I am not shopping until Europe so I have to stick with what I have.
What are some of your goals and plans for spring?
I hope you achieve all of your goals! Where in Europe will you go?

We are off to Venice and Paris in a couple of weeks.
DeleteYour family trip to Europe is going to be amazing! Savor every moment with your girls! They grow up so fast!

I am sorry for my delay. We are so excited and counting down the days.
DeleteYou are a busy bee! It seems you handle it well though!! Oh I CAN'T wait to hear about your Europe trip!!! I just ran a 10K last month after we had several tornados rip through and it was SOOOO windy! I wish they would have rescheduled it, because the headwind was like a wall and I was running in air that was brown with dirt! I don't know if I told you, but Autumn decided to quit dance :( so I think she's either doing field hockey or golf next fall. That will be a change as she's been in dance since 2!

It's been a hot minute since you wrote this and now you have achieved your half marathon goal!!!
DeleteYou’ve got some great goals listed and I am inspired to do the same. For me, right now, getting back to healthier weight is on the top of my list. Then, there’s professional development as I love to learn but don’t necessarily have the time to read. So I have been signing up for trainings to fill that gap. That said, take me to Europe with you! Lol But gosh, graduation already. It’s crazy how time flies but Hallie deserves it and I am so happy for her and your family.

I am sorry it's been a hot minute and that ks for stopping by. Sounds like life is full and busy at the moment for you. What kind of training are you pursuing in terms of PD, I could use some inspiration.
DeleteI splurged on some fake eyelashes last week, the glue failed and they partially detached. A humiliating experience because little kids on a field trip were making fun of my eyelashes.
ReplyDeleteI've tried the whole magnetic lash thing and it was not for me either. This is done by a lady and I get fills every three weeks when I am doing it.
DeleteOh, the end of the school year is always just bananas. We have state testing and then it feels like everyone just quits teaching - ha!! Or they stop worrying about teaching to the test and start doing more fun lessons. I used to try to get everyone into the library in the spring for some kind of fun research activity. That was a crazy busy time.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are going to give yourself some grace this season but it still looks like you have a full plate of 'extracurricular' activities outside of working fulltime. Yes, yes, yes get some help cleaning the house. We have just finished our winter spring cleaning and I feel like I should start all over again!! But have also thought that now that the house is all clean, maybe I could splurge and have a cleaning service once this summer. We'll see.
Funny that you mentioned adult ADHD. We were talking about that today. I have always been so easily distractable but don't see myself as hyperactive. I have learned to manage pretty well by this time - ha - but my mind can be in about 10 different places at once. And I can start a project and wind up working on something entirely different in just a matter of minutes because I somehow got distracted or off track. Hope you will share some of what you learn in your research.
Looking forward to more info about your trip to Europe. I am sure it will the trip of a lifetime. Gld you have the option to rent out your cabin to recoup some of the expense.
Proud of all you accomplish. You are one terrific mama, wife and administrator.
What you are describing is exactly how I am. Busy bee but organized probably as a strategy I learned along the way. I am learning a lot, especially about how it manifests for girls vs boys and how we as women deal with it in adulthood. Also the connection for females to bring misdiagnosed with anxiety/depression could be potentially negated if treated for ADHD. Yes, I'll share more.
ReplyDeleteYour spring sounds insanely busy, but understandable with the closeout of the school year. I'm sure you will handle it all with grace and before you know it you and your family will be off to Europe! I love all of these spring looks and they are certainly worth re-wearing this year.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great week so far!
