Bright Fun in the Sun!

Summertime is my favorite.  It’s a time for me to be completely relaxed.  I actually switch gears from being consumed by work/school, to being with family and friends rather quickly, although if you are a teacher in Canada you know that August tends to be like one long Sunday night, LOL.  I have always loved summer, but I haven’t always loved bathing suits or bathing suit shopping.  I think this is pretty similar to most women’s experience, especially after our bodies begin to change either with age or after having children.

The best news about aging is that it truly seems to come with more wisdom and more forgiveness (at least I hope so).  I still wear bikinis and I don’t know when I’ll stop.  Do I always feel confident in them all the time?  Nope.  Some days I reach for my one-piece, other days I fell good and put on my bikini, unpolegatically.  I mostly just do what feels good to me.  Each year I try to find one bathing suit that I absolutely love, see last years here.  Honestly this process is usually not fun for me.  This year with COVID I decided to try an Amazon prime bathing suits and LOVE IT!!!!  At first I was going to play it safe with a fun flamingo print in navy, but when I saw all this one I just decided to take a chance because I am the only person that gets to decided what is age/body appropriate for me.  It’s bright.  It’s bold.  It a flirty top with the tassles.  And SO much color!  I also I like to stick with high-waisted bottoms I feel most comfortable with them.  At $30 and free returns I thought it was worth a try.  I love it so much, I may just order the flamingo one too.  For reference I am wearing a small at 5’4” and 128lbs (but I think I could do a medium too especially on the bottom).

Some of my BEACH MUST HAVES are:
  •        Cute towel
  •        Book
  •      Hat
  •      Sunscreen and I am especially loving the Vichy face sunscreen this year.  It’s not too      thick or greasy.  It blends in.  No breakouts.  Success!
  •     Water bottle.
  •        Cute cover up or beach dress.

What do you wear to the beach?  What is your bathing suit shopping go to?

  1. OH my gosh - this is one of my favorite bathing suits I've ever seen. The color - the bottoms that are high waisted & the flowing top - adorable!

    1. I love beach days. It's kind of my jam. I was unsure of trying them but with prime is just makes it so easy and I don't like taking chance s on items that can't be returned or I have to pay a ton of shipping for which in Cananda it eliminates a lot of places.

  5. You look absolutely adorable in that suit. I ALWAYS struggle with swimsuits. Because we had no vacation plans this year (Thanks to COVID), I didn't even bother looking for a new one.

    1. Me too. Finding the right suit is never a fun shopping expedition for me to be honest. I am so happy with taking this chance and that it worked out. Since we summer basically at our other home, our plans actually didn't change much, except we keep more to ourselves.

  6. This is such a cute swimsuit on you! I love the cheerful colors! I just bought an Amazon suit and it came after our little in state trip (boo!) and I have yet to try it on. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer before school starts! My kids start in 2 weeks and they go private so they're playing in person, BUUUUT that can change so quickly with the #'s going up still in my city.

  13. I couldn't comment at your pleated skirt post but it is such a great post and that skirt makes me happy every time I SEE YOU WEAR IT! Love all the ways you styled it. I also very much loved this post with the yellow swimsuit, I featured it on Thursday Moda a couple weeks ago, did you see it?!

P.S. Could you please reply back to my e-mail I sent a couple of weeks ago?! Thanks so much.

    1. Hi Ada. Thanks so much for the heads up! I fixed it! I have been swamped with back to school so I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull of the post. Now I think I will be able to. I'll email you back ASAP!

  14. I also couldn't comment on your pleated skirt blog post. I tried to look for it twice but no dice! Haha that rhymed. :) I agree with you about starting the blog and also shopping your closet. I can relate! I also started my blog for me too but not because of fashion. More so, to have a creative outlet. But back to your outfit. I love how you styled your pleated skirt. It's a beautiful piece and one that I didn't know that could be super versatile. I, of course, love how you styled it all but my favorite is look #1. So comfy yet super chic! My kind of outfit.
