Cozy Cardigans & The Ageless Style Link-Up

Oh happy day!!!!  Today I am officially joining the ladies of the Ageless Style group for my first post with them.  Please feel free to join us every third Thursday of the month.  Way back in January 2021, when I was brainstorming my goals and hopes for 2021, along with my word CONNECT, I said that I hoped to collaborate with more bloggers this year and I am thrilled to be joining this group of ladies from all different walks and stages of life.

This months prompt was cozy cardigans.  Usually when I think of cozy cardigans I immediately jump to a duster cardigan but I decided to take it in another direction this time.  Although I am not totally comfortable with crop tops, I do love the cropped cardigans that all the young ones are wearing.  For a long time I admired them from afar and on my daughter so I finally  decided to "borrow" hers to play with and see what happens.  Well what happened is that I know have it permanently in my closet and I am hoping she doesn't notice.  Hahahaha.    Although I am not into showing off  my mid-riff like the teens, I do like it paired with a black tank top and jeans.  I have worn it a few times and feel completely comfortable and confident.  I would also style it for work with black pants or my little leather skirt.  Picture Cher from Clueless but much older and more sophisticated.

On a completely different note. I have loved every minute of the warm fall weather we have been gifted this year.  Usually our fall is very short lived and we have our first snowfall often before Halloween (which could still happen).  We've had unseasonably warm days and I have spent many of the weekends walking trails and enjoying nature, like this day in earlier this month while we were at the lake.  I hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday and please feel free to link up with us below and don't forget to check out how all the ladies styled this prompt below!  Up next month on Thursday, November 18th, we are showing you are favorite fall booties.

Blustery Days and Sweater Vests

Sometimes you are really want to get to work and take your outfit photos and the day just isn't cooperating.  Here in Saskatchewan we often have high winds so I decided to just venture outdoors regardless of the weather and make the best of it.  We were going downtown to do a little bit of shopping so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to wear my new sweater vest and button down.  The sweater vest trend is going strong and I knew I was going to jump on it when both of my girls bought theirs in the spring.  I was like, heck yes, I missed jumping on this train when they were around back in the 90s and I am not missing out again.  So I looked to add the perfect one for the fall and found this one at the Bay and jumped on it, its sold out currently but I'll link a few similar option below.  The next item I really wanted to add to my work wardrobe this year was a button down shirt.  I haven't actually had one for years but I desperately wanted a longer one, that was loose fitting but also lightweight so that I could opt to tuck it in or leave it out.  Another things I really wanted was for the sleeves to be easy to roll up, and that it was relatively lightweight without being see through.  Check, check, check, I found everything in this one and I know it'll get a ton of wear!  I love how this outfit came together, especially with the leather pants, red lips and little booties.  Can I just say that I really miss being able to wear lipstick so that people can actually see it. Sigh.  I know it's a small thing but I miss knowing people will actually see my make-up, just saying.

Okay, your turn, what are some of your must buys for fall/winter?
What trends are you wanting to try?

Blue Blazer Three Ways

This fall one of my goals was to up my blazer game.  Blazers are an easy way to add layers to any outfit, be it casual, office or dinner out at a restaurant.  They always elevate an outfit and are a staple for most women working in semi-casual or dressy work environments.  Over the past couple of years I've been adding a few here and there throughout for different seasons, see a light weight floral one featured here and my favorite oversized one here.

I just added this blue blazer recently while shopping at the Belong Lifestyle Saskatoon launch event.  I went in knowing that I wanted to add a blazer to my closet, as well a casual black top.  I like going to events knowing what I might be looking so that I can support a local business but also purchase something that I actually need and is within my price range.  I wish I had an infinite budget but I don't so I am usually very strategic where and when I attend events  based on whether I can support them or not.  Anyway, the ladies right away brought me a couple of options but they knew I would love the blue blazer.  I love when sale staff knows you like that.  It fits absolutely perfectly in the arms and shoulders.  The fit is slender but not tight.  The material is soft and comfortable to move around it.  I can stretch my arms and wrap myself in a hug and there is no pulling or tightening.  It was immediately a perfect fit and I knew it was coming home with me.  So let's see how I've styled it over the past few weeks.

#1 The Weekender

Obsessed with the Grease You're The One That I Want tee (also from Belong Lifestyle).  I love this whole look but next time I might switch out the jeans for my leather leggings.

#2  9 - 5 p.m. Office Time
High waisted trousers, a pretty floral top that really pops against this blue blazer.  It's the perfect fall outfit!

#3 Date Night!
It's the weekend and I'll dance if I want to!!!!  I love having a little date night with my man or going out for drinks with the girls.  Either way, this little summer dress easily becomes a favorite fall outfit by adding the blazer for an extra layer and little navy booties!

It's Thanksgiving here in Canada so happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends.  Although we are all struggling through the ongoing pandemic in different ways, I hope you are able to be with people you love.  Everyone else, happy Monday and I am so thankful that you choose to visit my little blog and to connect with me.  Thank you.

September Outfit Round-Up

Hello October!!!! I am happy you have finally arrived.  You guys, I felt like September lasted forever!!!  I don't know if it's because as admin we went back to work mid- August so September felt like it started earlier for us or what, but I am glad it's over.  Although, I know that once we reach      mid-October our temperatures are going to start feeling more like winter and less and less like fall. I don't even want to think about that!   Like many other parts of the country we've had an unseasonably hot September, that often resembled summer weather and we even broke a few records.  If you follow me on IG you know that I try to post a few #ootd every week, if you don't  please do.  😊

Here is a photo dump of what I've been wearing  through September!  Also, if you have a minute to shoot me a message of what you want me to style or write about in the next few months, let me know in the comments.

For all my Canadian friends, happy Thanksgiving this upcoming weekend!
