Thanksgiving Recap & Who Wore It BEST?

Canadian Thanksgiving was earlier in October and although it seems like a long time ago, we enjoyed a lovely weekend spending time with both sides of our family, time outdoors and cheering Halie on at her final horseback jumping competition of the season.

I started off the weekend reconnecting with friends after work on Friday.  We caught up on work, family and life.  We laughed and giggled, and filled our hearts.

Saturday morning I started the day off by running and then watching Halie, and Steven (the horse), finally achieve their goals after working really hard this season.  They consistently made it over the .85 and .9 of a meter to get a couple of 2nd and a 1st place.  Unfortunately their second day got rained out and they weren't able to compete the second day but it was a huge success.

We gathered at my aunts and uncles to celebrate my uncle's birthday and share a Thanksgiving meal together.

My dad and I showed up to the gathering dressed as twins.

Who wore the VEST BEST?

We then headed 2.5 hours away to my in-laws to spend some time with them and our nieces and nephews on my husbands side.  It was a very quick trip but one filled with games, visiting and eating another delicious meal.

We also got to enjoy some outdoor time even though we had our first snowfall, which was essentially just a skiff of snow that melted away immediately.

My outfit! This year I decided to be very casual in wide leg jeans, lacey top and my vest over top.  I was chic but comfortable and these Levi's have a lot of give to make sure that even if I ate a little too much, they didn't dig into me.

Along to the dinner I brought a good bottle of red wine and some Gluten Free pumpkin pie.

I know U.S. Thanksgiving a little less than a month away, what are you planning to do to celebrate and what will you be wearing?

Ageless Style: Mini, Midi or Maxi?

Our prompt today is brought to you by the lovely Joanne of  My Slices of Life.  The prompt: Style a mini, midi, or maxi skirt.  Do I have to choose just one?  Well, I couldn't, so I am showing you all three and how I have been wearing them this fall season.

Let's jump right in.

#1 Mini Suede

Suede is having another moment and I am not complaining.  Pulled this little gem, similar here, out of the bucket and happily wore it last week to work.  It's not mini-mini, but it's above the knee and perfect for the office.  I wanted to keep those neutral tones going with the off-white sweater and brown/black ombre boots which are AMAZING and currently on sale here (also, they are waterproof!).

#2 Floral Midi

I love this skirt.  I purchased it last year and styled it 5 different ways here, but it's back in rotation again this year.  I added a dark hunter green turtle neck and slouchy boots to take it from a summer to fall vibe.

#3 Leopard Maxi

This is a new addition to my fall wardrobe this year. Initially I purchased this skirt from H & M but the medium was just too big and they didn't have a small so I sadly returned it.  Then I was randomly shopping at Winners and there it was, in my size. I was thrilled and absolutely love how it fits, especially paired with this cute little brown cardigan.

That's a wrap.  What's your favorite?  Are you a mini, midi or maxi lady?

Next month, November 20th our prompt is vests.

What I've Been Wearing Lately

Hello!  I am back after taking a week away to get caught up on life and sleep.  This weekend was exactly what I needed with the release of The Life of a Showgirl on Friday, going to the theater to watch the release of the album with my daughter, followed by two 9 hour nights of sleep, balanced with time outside enjoying the fall weather, getting some runs in, getting three galleries completed and into the hands of clients, and hosting friends for a no-fuss burgers on the BBQ supper.  Success!!!!

Now, let's take a look at what I've been wearing lately, specifically in the month of September.  You guys, September was like our summer!!!!!  I am so sad that summer ended up arriving so late int he season but it was HOT most of the month, and only in the last week have temps come down to a more fall seasonably cool temperature.  Needless to say, I was able to wear many of my summery things into September and then add a few fall-ish vibes near the end of the month.  I've officially switched out my summer clothes for fall this past weekend so follow along on IG to see my daily OOTD.

What brought you joy this weekend?  Are you excited about the new T. Swift album or indifferent (both and everything in between is totally okay here; but no unnecessary hate). This upcoming weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving so I am looking forward to the long weekend, as well as time to reconnect with some family.  Have a great week!
