Biking Around Town One Shoulder Exposed

As I mentioned last week, most of my summer plans include time at our lake.  Beach.  Boat.  Deck.  Family time.  Lake friends.  It's a completely different pace of life than my real life in the city, and I covet this time and have come to appreciate the change of pace more than I can express to you.  We are a 2.5 km out of the town so we often bike in to get fresh bread, ice cream or grab a coffee.  We have a lovely, treed path right into town.  Freshly baked goods are my favorite and this is the only time of year where we eat white bread consistently without another thought.

Even though my days at the lake are usually pretty casual dress, I do like to switch it up and utilize something other than my denim shorts and tank top.  I adore these high-waisted, paper bag, gingham shorts that I snagged at Winners a couple of summers ago.  They are adorable with light pinks, polka dots, body suit or just a tank top.  The possibilities are endless!  Paper bag waist pants, shorts, skirts are all the rage and I never want them to go out of style.  I love the tucked in look which really helps me define my waistline.  This time I decided to pair it up with this asymmetrical, one shoulder top, for a little bit of fun.  Just exposing some extra skin, makes this top super cute and also gives it a little bit of a sexy look without going over the top.  I love this top paired with jeans and statement earrings when going out for casual patio drinks (not this summer though).

Are you shopping your closet this summer or purchasing new items?  This summer I am mostly just shopping my closet and saving my money for some new additions to my work wardrobe and shoes in the fall.  I am linking up similar options to this outfit below so check those out if you are looking for new additions to your closet.

    1. I sure need it too after eating white bread daily 😁. Usually we eat all whole wheat if we eat bread but not in the summer. We go all out with white bread and buns. Hahahaha.

  8. Such cute shorts! I used to have a pair of paperbag waist shorts and I donated them and often miss them every time I see someone rocking the style, haha! Yours look great on you and I like the black top with them too! While it's winter here I haven't been buying much either - I usually buy more in summer anyway as winter is so brief here, but with staying home so much I don't feel the need to buy anything new!

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! The new link up is live on my blog now, I'd love you to join again. :)

Hope that you had a lovely weekend! :) Despite the wild and wet weather we did get to go out to see the results of our family photo shoot the other week and pick some photos to put up on the wall.
