Ageless Style: The Super Puff Coat

This month the ladies of Ageless Style are coming to show you some outerwear.  Although many of you are moving towards thinking about Spring fashion and weather, I am stil going to be wearing a winter parka for a few more months.

Dropping a lot of cash  on a winter coat is never on my list of desires to be honest, but I live where winter is long (5 months long) and harsh  (like -40C harsh). It's not always that cold, but between -10C and -20C as a daily is what we wish for to be honest, with temperatures dropping to the above digits several times over the course of winter.  Needless to say, proper winter gear is kind of a must have!

Being that we are outdoorsy and active, I already have a great winter coat and fleece layer combo, ski pants, heated socks, warm mitts and Sorel boots.  That being said, as a teacher I am outside several times a day for supervision anywhere from 15 - 45 minutes at a time, as well as we  take the pups for a walk each evening.  I started to wonder if a long coat might be nice, especially for the shorter stints of supervision so that I didn't have to put on ski pants every single time to keep my legs warm.  I started looking at Aritizia's famous Super Puff in the long coat.  The price tag was just under $400 for the their warmest coat, which is rated to -40C, there are other options to consider depending on where you live and what you are needing.  I really wanted it but I've spent money on other "super warm" coats, namely an Arc'Teryx jacket, only to find that it really weren't all that warm.  Well, I am here to tell you this coat is WORTH the price!!!

I got it second hand on Marketplace, for half the price, in late October.  We had a phenomenal fall but now we've had some frigid temperatures in December and this coat is everything it claims to be.  Super warm, no extra layering necessary, it's wind-proof, keeping me warm from head to toe.  I can honestly say I've only put ski pants on a handful of times when it's been really nasty for walks, -27C or colder, and this coat has kept my legs warm.

*These photos were obviously taken previously to our winter really getting started.

I'm 5'4 so the jacket only leaves a few inches between my winter boots and bottom of coat.  I usually just  where my fleece sweats and my boots to take the pups for their daily walk, and I stay good and warm.  I am 128 lbs. and 5' 4, and I purchased a small.  It's got lots of space even when I have a bulky sweater on underneath.  I love how warm it keeps me but also how stylish it looks.  I feel put together whether I am skating with the family, going for walks, or running to the mall.  I love it styled with a cozy warm, fleece sweat suit set like this one, which has been my go to for our winter walks or errands.

So, I give it a full ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and definitely would pay full price to buy it, and I don't say that lightly.

*This is NOT sponsored in any way, shape or form.  My honest opinion and desire to share what's worth the money in my opinion.

  1. I agree some coats are worth it. I bought my Canada Goose at Saks in Toronto back in 2019. With the exchange rate, I saved hundreds!

    1. That's me too. And to be honest for cross country skiing and we just went snowboarding, the long coat is not a good option. But for everyday it's been the BEST $ spent and it will last for years and years.

  3. I have seen a few women in Wisconsin wear a long parka coat like that. I'm sure it keeps your legs nice and warms. The longest winter coat I have is mid thigh but I've been thinking of getting a longer one! They are expensive!

  4. What a deal you got! I’ve always wondered about that coat, but I don’t need one quite that warm! You look fantastic in it, and I’m glad it was exactly what you wanted!

  6. Wow, it sounds like the perfect coat for what you needed and it's awesome you were able to find it second hand. I can imagine the hassle of adding ski pants in the mornings for those times outside so the length is super handy. And it looks really stylish which is a plus: warm and cute!
