Summer 2022 FabFitFun Box

To get it or not to get it?  That was the question this past winter.  I've had this box in the past and have loved it, liked it, and been 'meh' about it.  I took a break and then was really missing it.  This is what I discovered while taking a break.  I missed having something just for me to look forward to having.  I also missed trying out new products.  I am not someone that goes out of my way to drop $$$ on make up, skin care or hair products, but I do enjoy having nice things kicking around.  So this is my second box since I've repurchased the membership, the spring box was really nice, but this one I LOVE everything in it, well except for the body scrubber thing (scroll down).

As a annual member I get to choose almost all of my products and I really like that.   Yes it's nice to get a surprise but honestly they've upped their game on the choices you have and I always have something I need/want more than something else.  I really like the choosing part, plus it makes me excited before even the box ships, then I am excitedly awaiting its arrival, and then I get to enjoy it, so it goes a long way.

So here is what was in my box!

#1 Foxybae Blowout Dryer Brush Pro -  I am so EXCITED for this product.  I absolutely love my Revlon Dryer Brush  but my kids have been using it and its the bristles on it were starting to bend.  I needed to replace it so this came at a perfect time and the reviews are VERY good.  Honestly it saves me sooooo much time in the mornings when I wash my hair, see my honest review for the Revlon one  here.

#2 Lilly Pulitzer Beach Towel - Not only is this towel bright and oh so fun, it's so soft to the touch.  It's also oversized, which I love.  Since I spend a lot of time at the beach during the summer, I am very excited with this product.

#3 Ahava Essential Day Moisturizer & Elemis Pro-Collagen Night Cream - I wanted both of these items and with the selection process you can add on another product for only $15 instead of the $100 that I would have paid in store for the night cream!  They both got excellent ratings online and this is the perfect way to try pricey products without much to lose.

#4  Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mascara - Tried it today and LOVE it!  It instantly have my lashes dramatic volume and fullness.  Good mascara is always pricey and it's something I never buy at full price.  I like my Voluminous by L'Oreal  but whenever I have a chance to try out a new mascara that's higher end, I snag it.  I've always been happy with what Fabfitfun has had and have never had an allergic reaction from higher end mascara's, so that's a bonus.

#5 Sea Salt & Citrus Candle - It smells so refreshing and will be the perfect smell to have beside my bed as summer dwindles in August.  I know it's going to be a favorite for me as I've gotten used to lighting a candle both before bed and first thing int he morning as I blog, read or work on my gratitude journal.

#6 Monroe Rose Gold Watch - I had a watch and it died.  I actually really miss it for YES, telling time and also its just such a cute accessory.

#7 Kayo Body Scrubber - Honestly this felt like they just threw it in to fill the box.  Not excited about it at all.  I'll offer it to my girls but I don't really think they'll even want it.

Well that's it!  That's what was in my summer 2022 box and I can honestly say that almost all the products that I choose have me excited!  For $65 I got all of these amazing products and that's a score for me!

Do you have a subscription box?  Which ones?  What do you like or don't like about it?

Falltastic in Felt Hats and Fringed Scraves

Scarf?  Poncho?  Cape?  What is it?  Well, whatever you call it, I know it's absolutely beautiful and a prefect addition to my fall wardrobe.  I have been wearing it pretty consistently since I received it in my fall fabfitfun box.  I've had a number of ponchos in the past and have loved them all, but what I like about this one is a) the color and b)structure.  Usually at this time of the year everything tends to turn to darker, moodier tones, which I do enjoy but as the fall days get shorter and we move into the depths of winter, I find darker colors make me feel gloomy, so having some soft pastels to off-set the drabness outdoors is welcomed.  Unlike other blanket scarves, this one has a clear shoulder structure to make it putting on and staying put super easy.  Honestly it just sits perfectly even as you move throughout the day, no fussing with it and readjusting it all the time.  I love how the front is open, and the fringe hangs down, giving this illusion of care-free, easy- breezy, I just woke up like this, look.  I've been pairing it with jeans, leggings and pleather pants.  Also, throw on a felt hat and a pair of shades, and voila you look chic 😉.  I just added this felt hat to my closet and I love how it makes me feel so classy.  I so wish I could wear it more.  HELP!!!  How do you style your hat and where do you wear them?

If you are interested in spoiling yourself or giving someone you love a winter fabfunfit box for Christmas, please use my code to get $10 off your first box!  I always get one for my sister for her birthday and for the third year in a row, she has asked me to surprise her with it again.

Morning Elegance & My FabFitFun Box Review

One day on the weekend, usually Sunday, I like  to reserve just for relaxing, reading a book, writing a blog post,  and drinking my coffee.  The idea of taking two hours to just move around slowly, in my otherwise quick paced life, is a gift.  In reality, this usually  happens 50% of the time on any regular weekend BUT when we go to the lake, it just naturally happens.  I sip my coffee, lounge in my robe, read my book by my window that looks out into stillness.  There are usually dear roaming about, the trees swaying back and forth, and it seems that the sun is always shining  regardless of the season.  Ahhhhhh.  I do love that life.

Now, how gorgeous is my new robe that I received in my FabFitFun spring box?!?  Seriously the fabric is so soft and gentle on my skin.  The floral print makes me dream of spring flowers, sunny days, and sipping my coffee outside on my deck.  The colors are vibrant and yet not overpowering.  The high/low structure flows off the body perfectly and elegantly.  I actually saw a fellow blogger Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom wearing this robe as a kimono instead of the traditional robe and  thought, that's brilliant.  I do have one plain silk robe from my wedding that I like to wear, but this one makes me feel feminine, pretty and happy every time I put it on.  I'd say it was time to upgrade and I couldn't be happier with it!

The spring FabFitFun box was a really pleasant surprise.  I like every box to be honest, because I would never be able to try all these products without it. This box provides me with so much happiness and anticipation as a mom, that it's truly worth it.  I have a $10 off your first purchase if you decided to try it out and make sure you let me know what you think of it.

What else came in my box? Have a great weekend everyone.  We are off to our first dance competition and the girls are soooooooo excited!

Winter FabFitFun Box Review

A gift just for me.  I love it.  Seriously the anticipation of waiting for my FabFitFun box to arrive sends me back to Christmas morning, every time.  What in our adult life gives us so much joy or giddiness?  I tried my first box in the fall, before committing to invest all of my birthday money into a year subscription, and I am so glad I did.  I would never buy most of these items on my own, I just wouldn't, but receiving them as a surprise or a gift, I just love it and feel like I am pampering myself.  After the first box, I decided that I deserved this little quarterly gift.  My winter box arrived just before Christmas and I also bought my sister one for her birthday and she LOVED IT!    Okay, let's look at what I received!

The boxes are always beautiful and there is always a magazine that goes through all the products, tips and tricks.  Love reading it.

The Patchology sheet mask I actually purchased as an add-on, which you can do with every box.  I received a sheet mask in my first box and absolutely loved them so I was hooked and these are just as good.  The set of 5 sheet masks for like $9 and they are amazing.  The oils, Ecylptus and Sweet Orange, which I've used in both my bath and my diffuser.  I am super excited to try the Ahava Hydration Cream Mask, especially now that it's winter.  I was waiting to use all my sheet masks up before testing it out.  The BLAQ eye mask is fun to try but I didn't really notice much of a difference to be honest, but again, fun to try and test out.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this palette.  I don't have tons of make-up so this is really fun to get and try out various looks with.  I use it daily for the office and also when I am going out, there are so many fun shades to work with.  Matte and shimmer,  classy and glam.  You name it, you can create it.  Also the Thrive Eye Brightener stick is awesome.  I keep it in my little cosmetic bag at work so that I can touch up my tired looking eyes half was through the day!

These coasters have become a favorite and have been moved up to the cabin.  They were probably what I was most excited about and maybe the through blanket.

Again, never, ever, would I have purchased this traveling jewelry holder but it's been used several times already.  Brilliant was to organize all my jewelry that I need and nothing gets tangled up!

This fringed, cozy, colorblock throw was the perfect addition to our master bedroom decor.  Not only do I like to cozy up with it and a cup of tea, but it looks great on the edge of our bed.

Finally, I think the above was my favorite piece in my box, the BearPaw headhand and glove duo.  I have misplace my headband and am absolutely devastated it by it.  I love the look of it and it was soooooo warm and soft with the fleece layer on the inside.  I would buy this again if it was an option.

There you have it.  My winter FabFunFit box right here.  If you are interested in giving it a try, just one seasonal box, or maybe an editor box, or a Pintrest box, do it for yourself or another lucky lady in your life.  They have lots of options and also have them on sale often so you can try it for less.  Each box is 49.99 US (even with the Canadian $ conversion I think it's worth it) and you get way more than it's worth.  You also get to customize a few things in your box, while others will be a surprise to you.  If you want $10 off your first box, you the link below!

What to Wear in a Winter Wonderland

So far we've been having a fairly mild winter, I am sure as soon as I publish this post the frigid air will blow over our province to keep us on our toes.  We've had a few really cold days but we've also enjoyed some really nice mild days such as the day I wore this.  I shot these picture when I was at the lake and generally wouldn't walk around in this outfit but I was imagining I was at a ski resort like Mount Tremblant, Banff, Revelstoke, etc.  I love snowboarding and we are finally at a stage as a family that we have been tossing around the idea of doing a family skiing/snowboarding trip vs. a hot winter holiday.  So here is what I would wear to roam around the little ski village after a long day hitting the slopes.  Leggings may not be pants but they make my legs look way longer, especially when I wearing a over-sized poncho and big Sorels to keep my toes toasty warm.  Side note, if you have long and cold winters these Sorels are the way too go.  My toes always get cold, ALWAYS, and I've tried many types of boots and finally I paid the $$ and bought these ones.  There are two pairs that look exactly the same but you need the Caribou ones because they are good to -40C.

Okay, back to the outfit.   How adorable is my FabFunFit mitts and headband set?  Seriously, can't get enough of this set and have been wearing it non-stop (to get $10 off your FabFunFit box click here).  I 100% love how this outfit came together, it cozy, chic, trendy and I would wear a version of this outfit to work, but I would probably switch the Sorels out for some OTKB :)

Have a great weekend everyone!
