What I Wore: Belong Lifestyle Mini Course
Getting dressed is the topic of today's post. Where is everyone at in regards to their daily dressing habits? What about shopping? Are you shopping for summer stuff? I've been up and down like many of you, but for the most part I've been getting dressed and doing my hair/make-up probably close to 70% of the time. Like many of you, I am working from home but do have meetings throughout the day, and also I tape my lessons, so for the most part I try to adhere to the casual office looks, so jeans have been in heavy rotation. I also joined the ladies from Belong Lifestyle, for their April Mini-Course on colors, patterns and trends. Katie, a fellow blogger and teacher colleague, and I decided to join together and it was a steal of a deal for only $20/person when you joined with a friend. The ladies at Belong Lifestyle provided us with:

Summer to Fall: Romper Style
Hi friends. I am back with another wear now and later post, see the how I styled my white dress for summer and fall here. As we start to think about transitioning from summer, insert sob here, to fall I am reaching for some of my favorite pieces that didn't get any wear at the lake, such as this little romper from Marshalls. Guess what?!? We are getting a Marshall's here next week and I am so excited. Now that I've had success shopping at Winners and Marshall's, see tips for shopping in these store here, I am excited to hit them up fairly regularly.
This is my last week of official summer, though I've been working half days from home/office/school, but we were able to get downtown for a picnic for a family picnic lunch. Once winter descends upon us it's hard to get downtown as a family and we all love the river/bridge views that our city provides us so I am so happy that we seized this opportunity to enjoy it before schedules, routines and life takes over our carefree summer days. I was happy to have an opportunity to dress up a little and decided to pair the romper with my pearly pink mules that I purchased at Nordstrom Rack while in Portland and my trusted little white backpack from London. This backpack is super cute and functional. Halie loves it too and has been "borrowing" it a lot lately, along with some of my clothes. Hmmmm. I am not sure how I feel about us "sharing" clothing.
How will I wear it in the fall? Well ladies first things first. I got new hair!!!! Yep, I went darker, brunette, inspired by Becca Kufrin from the Bachelorette. I love, love, love it. It totally feels like me, probably because it's pretty close to my natural color only better and shinier. Anyway, as the days and evenings get chillier, I have my jean jacket (sale alert) to throw over it. I love my jean jacket, it's completely neutral and goes with anything and everything it seems. A great investment piece in my opinion that is good through all seasons, even in winter I use it sometimes over little dresses inside, kind of like a blazer/cardigan. Anyway, I absolutely love how pink and gray go together like PB &J so I pulled out my little gray booties, and added the darker shade of burgundy to the mix. And the lips!!! I went way out of my comfort zone last winter when I picked this rich, bold, burgundy shade, Diva, up from Mac and have loved it ever since! What's your favorite lipstick shades for fall?
Have a great weekend everyone. I am getting to meet Deena from Shoes to Shiraz and Lana from My New Happy this weekend and I am as giddy as can be. Teeheehee.

What To Wear to a Winery: Rose Romper Style & Traveling Without Children
When this trip came together in March and when I saw this sweet little romper on sale I knew instantly that I wanted to wear it to my first winery outing. Within minutes I had my outfit picked out in my mind for the event, straw bag (which I didn't have at the time), my Guess sandals (for steady feet), straw hat (which I skipped), chunky Vega H & B necklace, and a shawl or denim jacket if there was a breeze, but what I've discovered that this romper actually looks fabulous with my stark white blazer. All items linked below.
My sister wanted my girls to come out west for a visit and spend some quality time with them. Be still my heart. The girls ended flying alone out to BC, while Logan and I made a mini-vacy out of the drive out to meet them. We rarely go places without the girls, it just hasn't been our life thus far, so we took the opportunity to do a few adult-ish things. Our first event was hiking in Lake Louise up to the Tea House. A moderate hike that we were able to do in 50 minutes, but most people take 1-2 hours depending on fitness levels. It's worth the climb to be able to the see Lake Agnes, with snow still glistening in the midst of beautiful, lush greenery. The climb is busy, a tourist attraction, but yet you feel completely alone and at peace. A fun fact, the staff who work at the Tea House have to do the climb up and down each day and also have to carry the garbage down from the Tea House. All the food supplies is brought in on a helicopter or brought up by the staff.
In Kelowna we stayed with my high school friend, Carling, and her darling little family, which is a whole different post. My one big wish was to visit some of the wineries because I've never had that opportunity and I really wanted to enjoy and experience it without kids. We picked two to check out, Quails Gate and Mission Hill. Our first strop was Quails Gate and it's beautifully manicured estate, full of bright flowers and lush gardens for you to stroll through. It makes you feel homey and at easy. You go around the back to walk between the vines to a stunning view overlooking the river. We also had lunch in their restaurant, which is rated #1 in Kelowna. We each ordered steak and paired it up with their Merlot that was recommend (we also bought several bottles). After lunch we indulged in some wine sampling and walked away with several bottles of Merlot, Gewurztraimer, Pinot Grio, and Rose. I would highly recommend this winery.
Next we went over to Mission Hill. I love their wine and I was so excited to go to the winery. Upon driving up to their grounds, I was super impressive, with their tall clock tower overlooking most of the Okanagan. The paved path is lined with sculptures and modern art. The wooden doors are impressive and catch your eye immediately. The store is decked out with accessories, pictures of Will and Kate's royal visit in gold plated frames everywhere, cookbooks, wine, etc. Impressive but pretentious in my opinion. You aren't allowed to walk beyond the paved area, which really takes you less then 5 minutes to walk through and then you can do the wine tasting. We did have a tour booked which was just okay, we went into the cellar but didn't really learn about the wine making business. Overall I don't think I'd return as I felt there was little to do or see but it is very impressive. Next time I'd like to check out Cedar Creek and Summerhill wineries.

Our days in the car, driving through the mountains were incredible. For the first few days we talked off and on but also enjoyed the silence. We listened to one audio-book and began another one. We made new memories for us to talk and reminisce about for years to come. On our way home, we had our sweet girls and experienced lots of fun family things in BC and Alberta, stayed tuned for details!

Fashion Friday: Romper Deals & Steals
It's no secret that I love rompers and jumpsuits as I've featured them multiple times on my blog here, here and here. I adore an outfit that you can literally grab and go with a few accessories to dress it up or down.
The truth is that I've spent 80% of my summer at the lake, and as much as I love to get dressed up and play with clothes, that is not required at the lake. I mostly live in the same few outfits and this little romper that I purchased last summer is just one that I gravitate towards all the time. It's perfect for the beach (cover-up), going into town or taking a stroll at the beautiful golf course/marina.
I am sharing some awesome deals on rompers for both summer days and cooler nights here today. There is still a three weeks of summer left and with some heels, accessories, and a clutch many of these can be transition to early September, depending on where you live.
1. Romwe Aztec Print Romper just screams BEACH! It's lightweight, flowy, has pom poms, and the print is my favorite, it just makes me think of the lake. It also comes in two different prints and it's 60% off.
2. ASOS Embroidery Romper. To me this is just very cute and yet sexy without being over the top. I think it's the perfect summer date night outfit. I love the combination of this summers hottest trends, ruffles, cold shoulders and embroidery.
3. Charlotte Russe Floral Romper is the perfect day to evening piece. To me it says summer days around the town, markets, coffee, brunch and then add some strappy heels and off you go to patio drinks with friends. Best part is $20!!!!!
4. Chickwish Crochet Romper. This is as classy as a romper can get in my opinion. It's delicate crochet detail, the long bell sleeves and black color make it easy to wear to a summer wedding reception or possibly even to work, depending on the length.
5. Shopbop Free People Romper. Oh I love Free People but it's usually so $$$ that I can't justify it, but this little number is only $49! I think this is the romper to take your from summer to early fall. The floral print is sticking around for fall and the darker shades definitely make it work, as well as the long sleeves. Pair up with some cute little booties and you've got a perfect transition piece.
Hope you enjoyed the suggestions!

Fashion Friday: Romper Style
I love, love, LOVE rompers, see here and here. Seriously it's like wearing p.j.s that are considered stylish. The only downside I see to them is going to the bathroom, but I can live with that. I picked this little romper a couple of weeks ago at Marshall's while browsing with my BFF. I have linked the same one at Swim Outlet for you. This beauty may not be work appropriate but the detailing on it was too sweet to pass up. Not only do I adore the soft color palette, but the cute little buttons and the tassels around the waist are just pure perfection. I wore this little number last weekend and it's all packed up and ready to go with me on our family trip to Disney World!!!!!!
Yep, we are off to Disney World tomorrow morning with the girls and my mom and dad. My parents joining us is especially significant for me. Four years ago we took the kids to Disneyland and my dad was scheduled to join us but he got really sick and was hospitalized a month prior to our trip. It was a very scary time for our family as we didn't know if our future would include him but today he is 100% better and enjoying life. My mom and dad have been an immense support to me my whole life. I feel so much debt to them, not that they ever make me feel that way, but they have sacrificed so much for us and I rely on them literally on a daily basis. Logan and I are very excited to have them share this holiday with our family.
