Little White Dress Summer Style

The Little White Dress (LWD) is always in style if you ask me.  It's a classic just like it's counter part LBD.  I am no stranger to loving and sharing LWD that can also be found here, here and here!  Although it never goes out of style, I do get tired of wearing the same one over and over, because I do wear them so much spring & summer, so whenever I see a chance to update mine I kind of jump on it.  This little baby doll dress popped up on my radar as a local boutique was closing and they were selling off all their things.  I scored it for like $25! I love the cut, the flow for summer, and the sweet little white polka dots all over it.  Instantly I jumped on it and ordered it knowing that I wanted to wear it for our family photos to celebrate Anya's grade 8 farewell, as well as a few other occasions.  The best thing about this little white dress like this is that is goes with all the foot ware you could imagine, sneakers/converse, cowboy boots (so cute for a country festival look), wedge sandals, booties in the fall, and  I choose to wear my funky, stiletto pumps that I recently purchased as a fun shoe to have around.  I kept the accessories to simple gold and although not pictured I had an old nude clutch, but I seriously need a new one so if you have any suggestions I am open to them.

This little cute family of mine.  Love them.

Always remember to be a little silly in life.  It's short, make jokes, funny faces and laugh lines.

I also thought it might be fun to go back into the archives to see other LWD.

Little White Summer Dress

Friends, it's Bojana here from Bosbodaciousblog.  I am so excited to be a guest co-host for wonderful Carrie of the CurlyCraftyMom blog.  Carrie has great style not only in clothing but she is a talented crafter and cook as well.  I've been following Carrie for years and I always feel like I can see myself in her posts, that's how good she is.  Carrie and Jill co-host a style link--up every Thursday and so I am thrilled to be co-hosting with Jill this week, while Carrie is away on a much deserved holiday with her family.

As much as the LBD is a staple, I think a LWD is too.  I've been searching for the perfect one for a few years now and just haven't had luck in finding one until I stumbled upon this adorable eyelet number at Winners of all places.  I was immediately drawn to the simplicity of the dress, with simple but elegant eyelet details and the subtle ruffle hem.  Well then I tried it on and posted it to IG stories and everyone was DMing me "did you get it?" and "yes to that dress."  Of course by then it was already hanging in  my closet because sometimes you don't even need to ask for opinions, you just know as soon as you put it on.  Although my daughter didn't find a dress for her grade 8 grad, I scored a dress for $20, and it's become a fast favorite this summer already.

I have wore it for a few special occasions such as our family photos, my nephews grade 12 BBQ celebration, and for my own daughters grade 8 mom and daughter dinner.  During these dressier occasions I paired it up with my new Steve Madden wedge sandals that are on sale currently.  They are so comfortable and are the perfect casual summer sandal.  Also, I added my new HB gold plated necklace and matching hoop earrings.  Keeping everything simple so that the dress is the main event.  Honestly, I have no intention in keeping this number locked away until another special occasion, heck no, it's going to the beach with me.  And I really want to try pairing it with my cowgirl boots in the fall and maybe a felt hat.  We will shall see!

Transitioning into Fall with a LWD & LBB

Two nights ago Logan and my enjoyed our last evening without kids. We headed downtown to watch the fireworks festival before going to pick up the girls and my parents up from the airport.  We had a week long vacation from parenting while my mom and dad had the kids in Victoria, B.C. visiting my sister.

I decided that I wasn't ready to let go of this little white dress that I purchased at the onset of summer ( see how I wore it HERE), so  I paired it up with these adorable little black booties (LBB) that I just purchased from The Bay.  LBB are a staple in my wardrobe and finally this past summer I said goodbye to my favorite pair, that I held on to for six seasons!!! I figured if I threw them out then I would be forced to purchase new ones, and  I am glad I did because these LBB are perfect.  I love the gold buckle detailing, the rounded toe, stacked heel and the comfort.  I am thinking I am might snag a pair in grey as well.  I also threw on my jean jacket and some gold accessories to spruce up the outfit.  If I had a black motto jacket I think that would pair up really well as well.

Lace, Fringe and Summer Date Nights

Almost every spring/summer and fall/winter season, I purchase one item that may not be super practical but makes me feel pretty and unique.  I saw this dress prior to our trip to Europe and my husband talked me into getting it with my birthday money.  On our first evening in Paris, which was also my birthday, I got to wear it out for dinner.  I felt so pretty, somewhat young and carefree, that I even did a little spin (check the photos below).

This was also the only time I wore shoes with a heel, my Nine West wedges, instead of my sensible Etnies which I lived in for the most of our trip.  I paired  the dress up with the  simple, yet feminine, H & B rose gold necklace (also a birthday present) and my sparkle ball earrings.

Though I wore this dress for a date night, it actually looks very cute with some fancier flip flops, or sandals, a floppy hat and a beach bag for a casual beach look or for running some errands around down.

Little White Dress

A little white dress can go a long way in the summer.  Work life, dinner date, patio drinks, weddings, church, or in my case a baptism.  I used to shy away from anything white but then a couple of years ago I joined Alison's Get Your Pretty On Style Challenge, and invested  in a pair of white jeans and  tee's.  Now I wear white a LOT, without fear, and bleach is  always on hand :)

A couple of weekends ago we were invited to celebrate our nephews baptism. It was a beautiful Sunday and following the church service we were heading outside for a BBQ at my sister in-laws.  I decided to wear this adorable, new to me, white dress, courtesy of my sisters closet YAY! I also paired it up with a floppy hat, and some sparkle from Hillberg and Berk

This stunning, three-in-one, rose gold, necklace was a gift from my sister and her family for my birthday.  Eek, I am one lucky girl.

Last, but certainly not least, my girls agreed to wear these adorable, matching dresses.  They are totally not into matching these days but I was so excited when they both choose to wear their lovely, spring bloom, maxi dresses to the baptism.  I just think they are so darn cute and still head over heels in love with their cousin Cooper.

Happy Hump Day!!!
